Modern Medicine and Doctors depend very much on the Medical Technologist (i.e. Lab Technicians, X-Rays-ECG Technicians, Opticians etc.) to guide them in the proper diagnosis and treatment of patients. It is very difficult for a doctor alone to handle both the laboratory and treatment work at a time, hence, they very much depends upon the assistance of technician in this line.
Pathology is a branch of Medical Sciences which deals with the study of the, abnormal functions (diseases) of the different parts of the body, and the laboratory pathology which deals with the study of diseases for the purpose of diagnosis by laboratory examination of blood, urine stool, sputum etc. The clinical laboratory is the most useful diagnostic aid of modern medical practice.
Consultants and General Practitioners and relying more and more on these test reports in the diagnosis of diseases and in the selection of methods of treatment. Mainly the diagnosis depends upon the reports of investigations done in the laboratory by the "Medical Laboratory Technician", So the Medical Laboratory technologist has acquired a permanent place in modem medicine. Thus the laboratory technician plays a vital role in medical field and he is, both, we paid and I well respected.
